Danish Rock n’ Riot Grrrl A Mess confronts gender perceptions, and sex with a head-on approach, channeling the rebellious spirit of #metoo in modern society and early ’90s indie punk and power pop. Imagine if The Breeders bred Wet Leg and left the upbringing to Pussy Riot. In the end of 2025 A Mess releases a new Christmas single ‘I Wish Me a Merry Christmas’ with well renowned indie label partner Rookie Records in Germany.
In 2026 A Mess is set to release new singles and push the boundaries of her pop influences fusing it with elements of screamo perfectly reflecting the wild energy of A Mess’ live performances. Expect explosive energy and fierce female empowerment, as there’s plenty to be outraged about these days.
Touring across Denmark and Europe with 100+ shows since 2021, A Mess is known for their kick ass live shows. She has played an Europe-Tour in 2025, Copenhell (2025), Waves Vienna (2024 Austria) and SPOT Festival (DK 2022) , headlined Nordklang Festival (2023 Switzerland) and been recognized as one of IMPALA’s “100 Artists to Watch” in 2024.
Dorte Hartmann, the visionary behind A Mess, leads this dynamic two-piece with vocals /guitar, accompanied by drums.
